IMDB rating: 5.60 Plot: Mitchell Gant, once one of America’s finest fighter pilots, is recruited by NATO, despite continuing bouts with battle shock (incurred in a harrowing mission in which he was captured by the Vietcong but rescued by US Air Force choppers), for a suicide mission – Soviet Russia has developed the ultimate fighter-bomber, the Firefox. A stealth warplane capable of sustained Mach Six speeds and possessing revolutionary thought-guided weaponry, the Firefox can tip the balance of international power, and the prototype’s seat is form-fitted for just one pilot, Colonel Yuri Voskov – to whom Mitchell Gant is the only Western pilot with the identical physical build necessary for the special pressure suit worn. NATO contacts among Soviet dissidents smuggle Gant through Russia to the Red Air Force’s testing facility in southern Ukraine, where he must steal the Firefox – and escape the wrath of the world’s most powerful air-defense grid, and of a second Firefox prototype. |

What could cause problems updating software?
This is probably a very long shot in the dark, but it may save me from reformatting shitty windows7 *yet again*.
1. I’m not a newb and I don’t have spyware running on my machine. I also don’t have any resource-hogging apps running as well, such as AV or firewall apps.
2. I disable every single service and scheduled task I’m not explicitly familiar with. Windows7 is absolutely notorious for having so many useless scheduled tasks running as its defaultly installed.
Here’s the issues I’ve been having so far, if I try and update say, an old version of Mozilla thunderbird – a new version will be detected, it will download it, and then install it but while doing so – completely disappear and windows will act like it was never installed but there’s ghost shortcuts on the desktop ect.
Firefox will download and acts as though it installs it, but check the version and it hasn’t changed!
So far I’ve been able to download the latest versions of both software from the direct site and it works for installing those, but here’s my latest piece of work: steam. If you try and install steam, it sees a new client available and it simply crashes will trying to download it.

Star Trek related question?
I was just wondering why they call Lt. Savvik, played by Kirstie Alley in Star Trek II:The Wrath of Khan "Mister" Savvik, when it’s quite clear that she is a female?
military tradition, i think.

Am I the only one that didn't like Star Trek (2009)?
I stopped halfway (I think even less than that). It just had too much annoying CGI that gave me headaches, confusing parts that only Star Trek fans will get (wasn’t it a film even for non-Star Trek fans to enjoy?) and the guy that played Kirk was annoyingly miscast (Chris Pine). Spock was good, actually. He was well cast.
Though, I’ve always wanted to watch Star Trek II: The Wrath Of Khan. Should I watch or not? Because, obviously, I didn’t enjoy the 2009 film at all.
The new Star Trek is supposed to be a movie understandable even for someone who has never seen any Star Trek, so I’m surprised you were confused. What parts didn’t you understand? They did slip things in that only a Star Trek fan would catch (such as recognising that Scotty has a tribble in a cage on his desk or well-known phrases used by the characters), but you weren’t missing anything important if you didn’t catch them, they were put in as a wink to the Trekkies.
The Wrath of Khan is the best Star Trek movie in my opinion. Give it a go. It was made in 1982, so it is unlike most modern films that overload with special effects to keep everyone’s attention. You might want to watch the TOS episode "Space Seed" first, because it’s the background of Wrath of Khan.
I enjoyed the new Star Trek film, although the abundance of lens flare distracted me a bit.

I haven’t seen the 2009 version of Star Trek so I can’t comment on how good / bad it was. But I would reccommend seeing the Wrath Of Khan.

If you didn’t like this one you shouldn’t watch The Wrath of Khan. I thought they were both great movies. Then again, maybe you will enjoy William Shatner’s overdramatic acting.
